BELOW ARE THE PRESIDENT AND TREASURER’S REPORTS.
President’s Report:
Congratulations and thank you to the 2020 – 2021 committee and club coach.
Kevin Murphy, you continue to strive for excellence as always, your passion of Tennis and the Milton Ulladulla tennis club is amazing. (Even though you keep cutting down my trees).
To my committee, Secretary Alan Pycroft where would I be without you! You have been a valued addition to our Tennis club and a great support to me.
Treasurer, Norm Holcroft thank you Norm for taking over from Lisa Masters as Treasurer you have also been a valued addition to our club.
Seniors Tournament organiser Mary Lou Barclay your commitment to continue to make this tournament a great success for the club is outstanding.
Paul Metzler your efforts in obtaining the clubs new lighting has been greatly appreciated and will be a great addition to an already fantastic club.
Doug Parker – thank you for your love of the club and looking after our gardens.
Pauline Proctor – you have decided to stand down from running the canteen and we all thank you for your 20 odd years of service.
Vice President, Lynne Hill – thank you for your very entertaining “On the Ball” great effort.
Paul Woodcock and Clive Ogilvy your Barbequing is second to none, always available to turn a sausage or two.
Andrew Edgar thank you for sitting through Zoom meetings with the Southeast Region.
Ryan Murphy, I hope you learnt something on your short journey on the Committee.
Non committee member Jan Shalhoub has continued to support the committee with newspaper reports and the clubs web page.
Unfortunately, Covid hit us hard this year as far as our competitions go but Sue Pascoe and Mary Lou Barclay who organise our two ladies’ competitions put in a lot of work to get them up and running for little gain, let’s hope 2022 will be better. Thank you, ladies.
Kevin Murphy, the Monday Men’s competition has a great future, and I am sure will grow when the lights have been completed.
Lynne Hill, who does an outstanding job organising the Tuesday and Saturday mixed social, I know your groups love playing on these days.
Paul Woodcock and Alan Pycroft have built up their Wednesday and Saturday social groups and everyone is enjoying their tennis.
Events this past twelve months have been few and far between due to Covid 19 and the only tournament that progressed was the 2020 Senior’s tournament which is a highlight of our club and well regarded by everyone who attends and was another great success due to the fantastic organisation by Mary Lou Barclay.
To our members, your continued support of the club keeps it running smoothly. This year we have had lots of volunteers helping around the grounds, especially in the gardens. I won’t mention names just in case I forget someone, but you know who you all are.
Last year’s project erecting a practice court for all to use, has been a great success and the committee enjoy seeing it being used.
The Project Lighting committee have been hard at work with council to finalise this project and I am proud to announce that by the end of March we should have all twelve courts with a high standard of lights. The SCC have been outstanding in achieving this result for us. Special mention to Matt Graham Southern Leisure Manager – Shoalhaven Swim Sport Fitness Ulladulla Leisure Centre – (Warden St, Ulladulla) has worked tirelessly with us to obtain a great outcome.
I look forward to another productive year.

Treasurer’s Report:
Key Points
1. Overall profit (after depreciation) from the Club’s operating activities for 2020-2021 was $21,332 ($12,790 for 2019-2020)
Total operating income for 2020-2021 ($103,100) was 10% down from 2019-2020 ($114,700) largely due to the cancellation of the South Pacific Open (SPO). Pleasingly, however there were increases in several other primary income streams:
- Ulladulla court hire $25,270 (up $4,262)
- Milton court hire $11,050 (up $1,095)
- Club social tennis groups $9,688 (up $2,140)
Total operating expenses for 2020-2021 ($81,766) were significantly less than for 2019-2020 ($110,998) the main reasons being: –
- Flow-on effects of SPO cancellation such as reduced expenditure on prize money and tournament officials
- 2019-2020 expenses included several major repairs and maintenance items such as court resurfacing, court wall repainting and excavation for the practice court.
2. Total cash holdings as of 30th June 2021 were $106,417 (compared to $96,867 as of 30 June 2020).3.The club invested $17,800 in the new lighting project and paid around $8,600 off its Bendigo Bank loan.
4. Total Equity as of 30 June 2021 was $573,120 (compared to $551,788 as of 30 June 2020)
In Summary, I believe that the above key points and the financial statements for 2020-2021 as presented, point to a successful year for the Club in terms of its financial position and performance.
I would also like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude and thanks to:
- Lisa Master, my predecessor, for her guidance and patience in helping me assume the Treasurer role, as well as for her ongoing assistance.
- Pauline Proctor for collecting and banking the Milton court hire fees.
- Kev Murphy for clearing the Ulladulla safe every day.
- Pauline McIlveen and Alan Pycroft for their ongoing assistance.
I recommend that the AGM note and accept the MUDTA 2020-2021 audited financial statements as a true and fair view of the Club’s financial position and performance during and at the end of the financial year 2020-2021.
