The Milton Ulladulla District Tennis Association will be hosting the biggest tennis tournament of the year again in Ulladulla on the last weekend of October attracting over 100 of the top ranking male and female players in NSW and from interstate.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary The Big4 Bungalow Park South Pacific Open is a prestigious and popular Gold Level National Tournament offering over $8,000 in prize money across ten separate events.
The 12-court Ulladulla Tennis Centre, on the corner of Green and Warden Streets, will be a hive of activity all weekend starting on Friday October 27 and culminating on Monday October 30 with the finals of the men’s and ladies singles and doubles matches.
MUDTA Vice President Maureen Mennie encourages all local players to come along and watch: “Only once a year can we get to see such talented high ranking players in Ulladulla. It’s very inspiring for all level of players.”
In fact everyone is welcome to come along and witness some great tennis at one of the best tennis complexes in regional NSW. Best of all – it’s free! That’s right, no charge to watch elite players battling it out for ranking points and cash generously donated by local business people.
President Keith Bonser explained “This exciting event would not be possible without the generous sponsorship and proud support of two local businesses – Big 4 Bungalow Park on Burrill Lake and South Coast Business and Financial Solutions, Ulladulla.”
Come on Saturday before 6pm to see who collects the most cash in a thrilling and hilarious mixed doubles continuous tennis relay event like you’ve never seen before. South Coast Business & Financial Solutions are the sponsors for the crazy ‘Dash for Cash’. Managing Director Karen Bashford said “This is a unique and fun event held on the Saturday evening where players battle to win as much money as possible. It’s the highlight of the weekend for us.”
While you’re watching the tennis your appetite will be satisfied with a barbecue, liquid refreshments and fully stocked canteen operated by our dedicated volunteers each day.
Naturally an event like this requires a lot of work behind the scenes and many volunteers are required to prepare the facilities and man the canteen throughout the 4 days. Members, if you can help out for an hour or two please contact Keith (0417 437 006) for the setting up or Jennie (0421 915 034) for the canteen and cake and slice donations.
